Kevin Aylward, a proud member of the Qalipu First Nation in Newfoundland and Labrador, is the Chief Executive Officer, Director, and Founder of Mekapisk EnviroBlu Inc., an Indigenous-controlled corporation dedicated to environmental sustainability. He also leads Aylward and Associates Consulting Group, offering business development strategies and capital raising services for Indigenous and non-Indigenous clients.

Specializing in leadership, renewable energy, energy transition, LNG, business development, and Indigenous relations, Kevin has a distinguished track record in the energy sector. As the former Chief Operating Officer at LNG NL, he was instrumental in promoting the development of offshore gas and LNG projects aimed at exporting energy from Canada, focusing on energy transition and carbon capture technologies.

Previously, Kevin served as Chief Operating Officer and Partner at Beothuk Energy Inc., where he co-founded Atlantic Canada Offshore Developers,  a joint venture with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners to develop offshore wind sites in Atlantic Canada. His extensive executive experience includes roles as Director of Ceylon Graphite Corp. and CEO/President and Director of NWest Energy, both TSX Venture companies.

Kevin’s career spans significant public and private sector roles, emphasizing marine energy development, regulatory and environmental assessments, and Indigenous relations. He served nine years as a Provincial Cabinet Minister in Newfoundland and Labrador, overseeing portfolios such as Environment, Occupational Health and Safety, Labour, and Forest/Agrifoods Resources, and was the Leader of the Provincial Liberal Party in 2011.

Additionally, Kevin has held leadership positions as CEO of the Goose Bay International Airport and the Nunacor Development Corporation in Labrador, and has worked as an Investment Advisor with BMO Nesbitt Burns.
